Privacy policy

Protecting your personal data matters to us. Below we explain, in line with Art. 13 GDPR, which data is processed when you visit this website and when you contact us.

1. Controller

ByteSmash GmbH, Grazer Straße 15, 7563 Königsdorf, Austria · hello@bytesmash.at

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as there is no legal obligation to do so.

2. Hosting and server log files

When you visit this website, the web server processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, requested page, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, referrer URL). This is required to deliver the site and keep it stable and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest). The retention period follows the hosting provider's rules.

Hosting provider (processor): Wasmer. The website is delivered via this provider's global edge network. Its privacy policy is available at https://wasmer.io/policies/privacy.

3. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide (name, email address, subject, message and the time of your consent) to handle your enquiry and for follow-up questions. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Your enquiry is sent to us as an email and is not stored in the website database. We delete enquiries once they are resolved and no contract is concluded, at the latest after 12 months; if a contract is concluded, statutory retention periods apply (in particular § 132 Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, 7 years).

To protect against abuse (spam), we store for at most one hour a non-reversible hash of your IP address, generated with a secret key, to limit the number of requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Cookies, tracking and external services

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or marketing tools. Fonts, scripts and images are loaded exclusively from our own server; no data is transferred to Google, social networks or content delivery networks. A cookie banner is therefore not required.

5. Recipients and third-country transfers

Recipients of your data are solely the processors named above (hosting, email service), insofar as necessary to provide the service. As the hosting provider operates a global edge network, processing may also take place outside the EEA. According to the provider, such transfers rely on adequacy decisions of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses (Art. 45, 46 GDPR); see https://wasmer.io/policies/privacy for details. Data is never passed on for advertising purposes.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before. Simply email us at hello@bytesmash.at.

If you believe the processing of your data violates data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at, dsb@dsb.gv.at.

7. Data security

Transmission between your browser and this website is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
